What is the life expectansy of the timing chain and gear on a 1983 Elky? And also, What brand of spark plug wires would you guys reccomend? ThanX

60,000 to 80,000 miles recommended on the chain. I've actually gotten almost 200,000 on a few. I use nothing but ac delco wires on my rides.

I put a Pete Jackson Gear drive in the 76. But for the 80 I used a Double roller chain they last longer and reduce overall power loss and every little bit helps. Accel wires, caps and Rotors. AC Delco Spark Plugs. Coil is not GM it is Pentrox along with the Module.
