I'm not sure who was asking for it, because they must have deleted their post while I was outside in the rain taking pictures and measurements for them. But here is a picture to locate the side of the air dam on the fender.

Thanks Ernie that was me. I started looking at pictures here and other sites and got an idea of the setup. Finished it and the tucked bumper today.

Looks really good. That bumper seems to eliminate the stock front fender extensions. Did you get them both from Honest Charlies?

Yes I had to remove the front fender extensions. I got the air dam, front bumper and rear bumper from Lauren Eng. They're local to me so I was able to go down and pick them up. The rear bumper will be going on as soon as I get the lighting system for the license plate set up. I'm adding a license plate flip down setup that will let me put the hitch receiver behind it. But during the flip process it hits the stock light which is what Lauren says to use. I think I have it figured out, now just have to try it.

I like the rear bumper. What are the three parts made of? They look like fiberglass. Can you use the original wiring harness for the tail lights?

I hope you're documenting this very well so you can submit an article to ECC. I'm sure others will someday add these parts to their El Caminos and would appreciate a do-it-yourself procedure to follow so they don't make un-necessary mistakes.

Ernie, I think all of Lauren's is fiberglass...I like the look as well.

Are you going to reskin the tail gate to cover the original plate holder ?

The bumpers are 'glass. The air dam is more like rubber, not real sure what it is but definitly not 'glass. On the rear bumper you use one set of the original lamp connectors and they give you another set that you have to wire into the harness.

I do plan on filling in the tailgate. With the bumper tucked in I think it will give the back of the Elky a smooth look.

I am taking pictures of what I do. I don't know if I'm getting detailed enough pictures for an article just have to wait and see. Since I'm doing most of the work by myself it's hard to stop to take too many pictures. Also sometimes you need both hands for the work and then there's no way to point a camera.

A word of caution about attaching the tail light pig tails: You may lose most of the space between your new bumper and the inner metal frame, making the standard pig tails too long to work. Even though your instructions may say to get two different pig tails for the center lights, you may be better getting all four of them new, in the flat Corvette style. You can determine how much clearance problem you will have by doing a test run dry mount with the tail-lights installed and the pig tails attached on one side before you actually bolt anything on. These tailights may be a dealer or specialty item only, generally not available around here at Pep Boys, Auto Zone, etc. Borrow a small tripod to set your camera on before you get down to the job. Then you just need to reach over with one hand and push the trigger on your camera. Have fun.
