To say that the previous owner was a big fan of the band aid method of repair is an understatement. I checked out my license plate light and it was burned out. Changed the bulb, still didn't work. Checked the voltage when the lights are turned on and there is no current. I had to have the backup light electrical problem fixed and they said it was such a mess they just ran new wires. Any suggestions for the easiest way of connecting the light. The wire now goes to a connector and then into the harness but evidently there is an open somplace. Thanks, Bonnie

If your tail lights work the easiest way would be to cut the power feed to the license plate light and bridge it into the power feed of either tail light.

There are splicing connectors that make the job easy once you identify the wires to use.

The license plate light is on the same circuit as the parking lights. It's the brown wire in the tail light harness. You can tap in there.

As soon as it stops raining I'll crawl under and see which is the best way to fix it. Bonnie
