I just saw a 76 elcamino on ebay with a sliding rear window. DO any one know were I can get one.

WOW wouldn't that be cool? It would make it easier to save all those beer er I mean aluminum cans I've been tossing out the window. :lol: Just kidding. I've never seen this but if someone finds out who makes it, let us all know.

Go to any autoglass shop- i'm sure they can order one for you. I have seen them on all the older year elkys(with flat rear glass- 64-77)
The normal rear window glass is about $150- so the price should be around that.

Although....IMHO- I think they look horrible- :p
Not to mention they also make your car super easy to break into...

I've had then in pick-up trucks but...........
I'd never put on in an elky..........

lcamino427 and theelcaminofactory, Look long and hard at those rear sliding windows. I have seen many, and while the function is good for letting in a nice breeze, the looks really take quite a bit away from any year El Camino. Both on the interior and exterior just look terrible.
When I see them, I just have to turn my shaking head away and .........well, it isn't pretty.

Yeah I'm tending to agree with you guys, the more I picture this in my mind, the less I like it! Not only because of looks, but the theft side is another aspect. I've had a lot of friends with pick-ups that had those rear windows and it always seems thats the choice of entry for the thieves! :mad: One of my greatest fears is coming out of some place and not finding my Elky where I parked it!

You guys are right it would make it to easy to steal.And they don,tlook good on our cars.

I've seen some and they are a novelty. I don't think they, in my opinion, make the truck look better but I don't think that they detract from it all that much either. Would be easier to have stolen.

I don't have anythig that I want to toss in the bed from the cab while I am driving and no one will ever ride back there so I wouldn't actually need to talk to anyone in the bed while I was in the cab. So I never considered it. I don't have one on my pickup truck either for the same reasons. Now my 80 does have a Sun Roof it did when I got it and it still does. I like that it is pretty cool. I don't toss anything out the top either. :D

I've seen Elkys with T-Tops and one that was a Convertable.
