just wondering if you still have the front end?? and if so, i had always heard the monte ss front end was 1 1/2 inches off from an elky and couldn't be used; true??

Elky79...A Monte SS front fascia will not fit on an Elky, it is wider (appox. 1 1/2") and the fenders do not, and will not line up. The front fascias' for Elkys are made by Honest Charleys and Lauren Industries. They run about $1000.

actually you can use a monte fascia but you also have to use the fenders and doors from the monte as well and do some serious shim work .
i have seen 2 el caminos with this swap and both trars(half car half truck)
looked like crap . i used the monte nose on my camino but i used my sawsall and cut the ends off removed the excess material and then put the shortened ends back on i used rivets and some sheet metal as backing . i did some fine tuning with bondo and it turned out pretty good .
and it only cost me about $100. as opposed to the $1000. that loren engineering wants for theirs .i'm thinking of taking a fibreglas mold off of mine to make some copies .anyone interested
