My 77 SS (hence my screen name) still has the stock AM radio. I went to pull it out last night, but seemed to have a brain fart about it. 8O

I of course removed the nuts from the front. I also removed a screw from a bracket below and to the left, in the rear. It still is not loose. It appears to be still fastened somewhere on the left side, maybe near the front.

What am I missing? Was the screw on the bottom not the one to remove?

Did you remove the nut from the back bracket? otherwise the wires might be caught on somthing.

The back is clear. It is hanging up on the left side only. I seems pretty firm, which made me think there was another bracket somewhere.

Then again, I was trying to do this last night with a flash light! Maybe I take another crack at it in the daytime! 8)

I found the problem. There is a bracket on the side of the radio. To loosen the nut, you have to remove the plate under the steering column, to be able to see it.
