hey wuts up everyone, i need some help with my el camino, i dont know if its an SS el camino or a standard one, i decoded the VIN and it came out to be a Custom el camino but i dont know if that means its an SS, all the badging has been shaved so i am not sure what it is, its all original witht the original block, heres the VIN 1D80J2K562535 thanks if you can help me out, jeremy

In 1972, the SS was based on the Custom model. The SS was an option. There is really know way of telling if it is a true SS via the VIN on a '72 except if you had a "W" as the fifth digit. This would indicate a V-8 RPO LS5 dual exhaust 454, which was only offered on the Super Sport model.
