In my short time as a member here I have noticed several other active and retired military members. I figured it would be interesting to see who all has served or is currently serving in the military, what branch, and what career field?
I am a munitions (Ammo) troop in the Air Force currently in Japan, but heading to Barksdale AFB, Louisiana next month. Can't wait to be reunited with my Camino again. Been a long 3 years of rice burners, but I do have a new respect for them after being here.

I was in the Navy 10-83 to 10-89. Electronics Technician. Ship Repair Facility Yokosuka Ja. and the USS California (CGN-36).

2nd best thing I did was join the Navy, the best thing I did was get out. :-D

From 74 to 80 I was in the Army. I served a little over half of that in Germany, the rest at Ft. Hood. Took basic at Fort Puke Louisiana. I was a Armament specialist. Was in 1st Cav, and 2nd Armor Division (Hell on Wheels). Supported Air Cav, Mec Infantry, Artillery and the Horse Platoon at Hood. I trained at Aberdeen Md for MOS.

Enjoyed it while I was in but I was happy to get out also. Had thought that I wanted to make that a career for a while that is why I spent 6 years in active duty.

I was a non-com in the U.S. Air Force Security Service from 1964 to 1968. Had two years of training in Texas and at Syracuse University. Served at Misawa AFB in northern Japan from Jan 66 to Apr 68 listening to Russian communications during the Pueblo crisis. Loved Japan!! Am in favor of a permanent ban on sales of coffee can noisemakers for ricers.

USN retired...too many different places...too many different jobs, mostly in the aviation community. I enjoyed it, but like any job it had its' good days and it had its' bad days. I wouldn't trade it for anything!

82nd Military Police Company
82nd Airborne Division
Fort Bragg, NC 28307

1979 - 1982
MOS 95B1P (Military Police, Parachute Qualified)

Even then I would be the last out of the plane and the first one on the ground. On one jump I missed the ground, landed about four feet above it in a North Carolina pine tree, took every limb off of one side. Side trips to Washington DC (President Reagan's first inauguration), Alaska and Egypt.

Retired Senior Chief, USNR. 13 years active duty, 13 years reserves. Computer Center Supervisor. Did a year in Saigon, Naval Support Activity.
Rode some cans (destroyers) before I changed rates from radar tech.

God bless our service members past and present. Thank you for your service to our great country!

Hey Senior Chief...alright! :D I still see no reason for jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft. Attended USAMPS at Ft McClellen AL. Horses? What does the Army do with the old ones? Now I know what I was eating at the base chow hall.

i heard from a TSgt (E6) that "everyone hates the base they're at, and wishes they were at the one they just left" or somethin like that, dunno if that's true or not, but i just wish i was back down south or overseas somewhere
