Okay, my brother used to drive 3000GT's, replaced the downpipe, and got a new one, old one is sitting in garage. He wrecked that 3K and wants another, but surprisingly this one needs a downpipe and we have one to spare.

Only problem, I'm in NJ, he's in VA. How would you ship one of these things? Just a REALLY big box UPS? Or would you drop it off and let them take care of it or what?

Me being lazy... I would bring it to a shipping company and be like "Can you package and ship this for me?"

Unless of course I had a box that it fit well in laying around... not likely.

Slap a stamp and address on it and jam it in your mailbox!

UPS limits the size of box they will ship. Measure it. Get length by width and give them a call to see if it qualifies. If not, it's best to ship with a freight company like Yellow Freight or one of the others who serve both your area and the destination in Virginia. You don't want it to transfer to another carrier enroute if it can be avoided.

Wrap the crap out of it with bubble wrap and packing tape and send it through Fed Ex ground.. Can ship some pretty big stuff through them, bumpers and hoods and fenders and such... I'm sure the downpipe isn't that big.

Grayhound bus company does shipping too, and their prices arent bad. Problem with them is time, sometimes your packages takes days / weeks to get to their final destination. Don't know what the size-limit is, but I had a trunk lid for a Mark-7 shipped from Kansas and it got here in 6 days - cheap.

I found Freightquote.com when I was shipping a trans. They give comparison rates and actually called me after I visited their site. I wound up shipping through DHL for $13 cheaper than UPS.

BTW, what is a downpipe?
