: Where to start?

I'm looking for some good resources to teach me as much information about el caminos as my brain can possibly hold. My car is in good shape, but certainly has room for improvement. I want to start doing some stuff. But am to afraid to do anything major. Yet I want to learn to do things myself, so I don't have to take my car to someone everytime I need something done. Plus it's so much more fun to do things yourself!
Also, when I start my car up I have to give it lots of gas otherwise it will stall out, and it idles fairly erratic. Then for about the first 5-10 minutes of drive time it almost seems flooded. It skips a little, and will sometimes stall at stops. Then when I accelerate hard I lose all power, and it takes a second to kick back in. Any thoughts on this? My dad suggests maybe it's a problem with the choke. Like it's staying open or someting? And lastly, is 50 dollars a fair price for weatherstripping for both doors, or should I shop around a little?
thanks
Keith

I would say you need to rebuild your carb. I had that same problem and I had rust dust from the gas tank in the carb. and the float's did not work well. Got it rebuilt and it was great.. My two cents.

I agree with 72elcamino350, and if you have not done so already a tune up and new filters wouldn't hurt either. Regards, 81_4fun
