I found the problem of why I did not have any spark. The MSD module that I put installed in September went out.
I had a problem burning out capasitors before I put in the MSD ignition and thought the MSD might solve my problems, but it did not. I am thinking that the ignition must be getting a surge of power to make the capasitors and the MSD module go out. I know enough about electrical to be dangerous, but I am thinking that the surge has to be from something bad in the alternator. Can someone explain to me if I am correct and where I might start looking for the problem
Thanks for any info. This is a great sight.

What capasitors are we talking about?

The capacitor that is in the distributor. The old points distrubutors called is a condenser. The manual for the HEI call it a capacitor. I am not sure what the difference is.

The Flux Capacitor!? GREAT SCOTT! This could alter the future that lies in your past! We'll have to go back to the future!

 I have no Idea what you mean, but I had to do it anyway!

Condenser / Capacitor, all the same thing. I always wondered why they called it a Condenser in a car since every other electrical application call them what they are, Capacitors. Their function is to direct high frequency ignition noise to ground. Its all about the Stereo. There should also be one on the Fuse Box under the dash. MSD is a bit more picky about RFI (Radio Frequency Interference). If present with a MSD or any of the High output capacitive discharge ignitions RFI can create some bad problems the least of which is misfires.

Capicators oppose change in Voltage, Coils or "Inductors" oppose change in Current. (Basic princpals of passive components)

I doubt that the Charging system is damaging the Ignition components, seriously. Its a bad connection. Your shorting out somewhere creating spikes.
