i need some help on where i can put some good speakers and subs in my "82 elkyany suggestions will help, i'm lost here.

if u feel a little ambitious and your willing to give up the cargo space u could make a custom box for the cargo are behind the seats... if u have the time and a little bit of knowhow then it should be a fun project, im thinking about it myself after im done with all the reseration for my 79. I've seen pictures of Elkys that have it and it looks nice.

i knew nothing of sound systems nor construction. and mine sounds fine. i made my own boxes(2) one for each 12. i got an infinity 6000 reference series component sys for the highs and mids. the tweets i put in the dash that i made custom holes for in the dash, in the already perforated holes for original speakers. and the mids in kick panels from www.custom-autosound.com i'll post pics hopefully this weekend on car domain put almost everything will require a certain amount of customizing.

Thats nice but it uses all the sapce up and leaves a bunch of usable space unsuable. It needs to set back in the campartment as far as possible, for my tastes. I was thinking about something pretty close except recessed and with some built in storage and recessed components behind plexiglass.

Was there a reason, other than being the easiest way, for you to use all the box's space?

I didn't need any of that space, and it would have been harder to fit a box that went deep into the cargo area. There is plenty of room behind the system because the sub boxes are small, but I didn't need the space. Beside I wanted everything to be more visable. I tought about putting everything farther back but the subs were too tall, unless I tilted them back to fit under the bed. -matt
