They sure aren't "great", but my order has been ok so far. I ordered $400+ worth of stuff and most of it was on back order. They said 4 weeks. It's about 2 weeks later and I have most of the parts and they all seem pretty good. I'm undecided.

It goes down around the door. it goes down all the way to were like the dash stops like under the colum besides the removable piece under there and on the pass side it goes down on either side of the glove box to the bottem. when my room mate gets home i can take a pic of it, if you wish and i will email it to you so i dont have to try and get it hosted.

I have to be desperate to order from them. Their prices are usually higher than anyone else, and no discount.

you mean opgi? or npd? if you mean npd then thats your choice hehe but i would rather pay a little bit more and get get stuff in one piece and not on back order. last order i wanted to get from opg would have been on back order for 4 weeks so i dont find the discount worth it then. but thats just me and my 2 cents hehe. im not tryen to say npd is the best but they seem to be decent.

I just ordered and recieved the bed mat from them. It was advertised in their christmas mail out and listed at 50% off. I compared the picture in the mail out to the picture in the catalog and they were the same. What I got is not what was pictured in either. It is thin and the ends that go around the wheel well are pieced and glued. The molded gooves are not the same. I will have to wait and see if this is worth the money, but don't rely on the picture and assume it is like the ones found in trucks.

1978 0wner, That post was in regards to OPG. I never had a problem with NPD. They are great to deal with, discount or not.

I have always got my stuff, like that dash cap, from J. C. Whitney and its always came to me when they said it would, in good condition, no damages. Its pretty competitive as far as price goes and they always send catalogs. Jegs does too! I've ordered several items from Jegs and its always came in boxes that have no more than 60 lbs in them and always a catalog in each box. I have Jegs catalogs coming out my wazoo! Every couple of months a new one.

I have one OPGI catalog I had to pay for to get. It was 7 bucks! They said I'd get that back when I ordered something from them. Right, I got my catalog something like 3 years ago. You guys scare me I have to get the interior for the 72 from OPGI. Everything else I can get elsewhere, and will. OPGI is just too expensive on almost all their stuff.

I have ordered parts from OPGI for over 15 years (69 El Camino, 85 El Camino) and have rarely had an issue. Just about everything from them is quality. The one thing I've noticed about them is that if you do have an issue, they listen and respond. I tried NPD and had been advised that my bed molding kit would take 4 weeks. I called OPG and they had it in stock for about $80 cheaper. Go figure.

I have only ordered a tonoue cover for my elky from OPGI, and it arrived on time and was easy to install. I guess its a question of what you order, if it is back ordered or not. Its just lucky that we have a few places to find our parts at.

I purchased under hood insulation from Original Parts Group for my 1982 El Camino. It was advertised as Original GM. It does not fit at all and will have to be returned.

I changed my mind about OPG. They stink! I hate them! The shifter I got from them was broken in the box and B&M had my Dad and I pay shipping to CA so they could look at it and send a new one. I tried to put their repro grille and bezels in today and they are some crappy fitting pieces. The bezel barley fits on one side and will never fit on the other. So many problems with this grille and bezel combo. NEVER buy it! I'm going to email or call them and see what they can do to un-piss me off. I sold my stock grille and bezels on ebay already and it looks like if I want something to fit I need NOS replacements. I'm still ticked my shifter arrived with pieces shaking in the box and that I have to pay more to get a good one. AHHHH! I think steam is about to shoot out my ears! I hope they're as good at fixing problems as you all say.

Why don't you just return them for a refund and go order some OEM ones at your local GM dealer? Here are the GM part numbers:

Grill - 14034154
LH bezel - 14034155
RH bezel - 14034156

Thanks for the part numbers. That's what I plan on doing.

OPG has always been fair with me. I think every vendor has issues; it is how they handle these issues that separate the good ones from the great ones.

The only bad experience i've had with OPG was when I ordered headlight bezels and a grille kit for my '69. The bezels came, but I never got the grille kit. I called them and they said the drivers side (left) eyebrow molding was backordered. They had no idea how long it would be, so I cancelled the order. The only catalogs I ever got were sent with parts I ordered.

I've never had a problem with OPG and have found their prices to be pretty good. I compared a few items to NPD and it's a toss-up. I will try NPD and The El Camino Store as well.

I have bought several small parts from them them in the past 6 months. I was pretty much unhappy with everything I got. However I was able to use all of them with some amount of fitting. OPG is the reason I named my Elky "the international Elky of mystery". I wonder if they have anything made in this country? On a positive note the stuff does get to me when they say it will. Mike

I went to the mailbox yesterday, and there was a brand new catalog! I was really surprised, as I haven't ordered anything in a long time.

So far OPGI has done okay by me. There were situations when something is back ordered but it arrived eventually. My problem with their catalog(s) is I receive them for vehicles I don't own.

I have also had good dealings with EC Parts :), The El Camino Store, Dixie, Summit, and the Chevrolet dealer. The later of which is normally more expensive but I get what I need quicker. :?

OPG's customer service, "s--ks"! They've gotten the impression that they are the only game in town.

My sentiments exactly. If I need something they are my last resort.

I've ordered stuff from OPGI and didn't have a problem, I ordered via internet and received the bulk of the order the following week, the rest was on back order for 3-4 weeks I got it within a week. I think they are in Huntington Beach, California so I'm fairly close to them, which is why I think I've had better luck than rest.
I've also order stuff from Ground Up and had no problems, mostly stuff that I couldn't find at OPGI or was priced better...

I've had good service with them, bought several different items, no problems (carpet/headliner/POR15). They always seem to send me free catalogs too 8O

Just wish they had FREE SHIPPING :)

I thought I had already expressed my sentiments in this thread about OPGI but it must have been in another thread about how bad OPGI is. (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=7512)

To reiterate:

OPGI sux.
