Well what are you talking about!? Driver's side and passenger's for a parking brake? All I know is if you go in reverse a lot the parking brake gets tight on drums. I don't know how to fix it though.

The brake cables are in a metal sheath and probably rusted causing at least one to hang up on release. You might try shooting penetrating oil along the lenght of the metal sheath, otherwise you will have to disassembly them to clean and lubricate. Your service brakes are self-adjusting and as long as everything on the backing plate is ok they will remain in adjustment (unless you NEVER back up). The parking brakes may need periodic adjustment at the cables. Good luck.

The best maintance a parking break can ever get is usen it. its when there never used that they start getting tight or hard to move. =] i would tear it apart and clean it if you can just adjust it.
