I want to change my speedometer with an overlay to read 120 mph.
after the overlay change from 85 mph to 120 mph can I change my speedometer transmission gears to make my speedometer read correct or do I have to have it calibirated by a speedo shop?

Thanks Rod

You will need to take it to a shop tand have them calibrate it. Cost me $75.00 good luck.

Wouldn't it be cheaper both dollar and time wise to just buy a 120 or 140 speedo off ebay and install it? No calibration needed.

Maybe..... I saw a factory 120 speedo off a 78 malibu police car. The guy that calibrated my speedo had it. I dont know how much he was seling it for. But he said it was very hard to find.

Get one from a 1987-88 Monte Carlo SS, they bolt right in, and need no recalibration. Not all that rare, but expect to pay around $70-80 on ebay. I think they go up to 140.
