I have an 83 El Camino and would like to swap my spare posi rear end out of my '79 Malibu into the El Camino.

I read that the two are interchangable, infact, I've already done one g body rear end swap (buick T Type 8.5 rear end into my Malibu). But also heard otherwise that the El Camino rear end is a little longer than the sedans. Is this true? Or would this be an exact swap?

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's the same crappy GM 7.5" rear end. Whoever told you that was misinformed.

Thank you for the welcomes.

And thank you too for confirming my question regarding the two rear ends. Glad they are exact.

Now comes the fun part, removing the existing rear and the bolts that haven't been turned in twenty years. :( WD40 to the rescue.......
