My '81 still has the antenna that is mounted in the windshield. I eventually want to update the sound system with a CD player. How well will the new cd player work with the windshield antenna? Thanks

Antenna is a antenna. No worries, your updated deck won't even know :). Plugs in just the same as a stock radio.

There are 2 different types (size of plug) of antenna cables, and since you didn't say whether or not your using a stock style radio you may need an adaptor...if you do they are available and most auto parts or auto stereo stores for about $8.00.

I have had both window and fender antenna on my El caminos. When used with a stock AM/FM Delco radio, I feel the fender antenna gets better reception than the window antenna.
