metal music screams 10's..... you have alot of room in that thing, wanna be real loud, get 4 10s and that thing will rock... but 2 is more than sufficient...

Are there any ill-effects of laying the subs horizontal? I'm thinking of making a box that lays in the cargo area that lays down having the subs facing the roof. The reason for this is because I actually haul stuff and need the box to be removable. Im thinking just mounting the amp on the box and using quick disconnects on the power and RCA cables. Any other ideas??

many people have done it this way, i have even seen it done such that the subs face downwards (need to build feet to keep subs off floor) and then stuff can be put ontop of it...

That face down idea has caught my attention. Any idea how high off the floor the subs should be?

That face down idea has caught my attention. Any idea how high off the floor the subs should be? And I was wondering if 3/4 MDF is interchangable with 3/4 Plexi ?

they dont need to be far off the ground, maybe an inch, and i would belive 3/4 in plexi would work..... but i dont know for sure..

look around the internet more on the mdf/ plexi glass question. i'v heard from a lot of peaple that plexi bends and expands more than mdf when the bass hits. and you don't want your sub box doing that. because that'll change the dimensions in the internal air space.
