I won a bid for two relays on Ebay through Camino Classics. Since I wanted to check out some other items, I emailed him twice and called once, with no response. When I called again this AM, the number was no longer good. Anyone know what the deal is with Camino Classics?

I think he became a member of this site not too long ago, posted in this section that he sells on ebay and left. I tried to reach him through this site with no response. I'm glad you told me because I was about to but a coolent overflow bottle from him today! 8O

What relays do you need, maybe I have something laying around the garage?

I have been to is place. He works alone out of his home, and has a large collecton of parts and parts cars in his storage buildings.

He IS difficult to get on the phone, and may be out of town for the holidays.

What I have bought from him has been as described, but I have found his prices to be a bit high.

I think your order is in good hands.

I think his prices are also high.

Some of his stuff I have wanted to bid on but if you read far enough into his feedback you get the impression that he is a little flakey.

POST BACK AND LET US KNOW HOW YOUR DEAL WENT

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE :)

Thanks for all of the feedback on Camino Classics. Still have not heard from him. I sent a 3rd Email and will advise Forum when I get a response. (I haven't paid yet, so I am not out any money)

The two items were the heater control relay and the heater control switch for my 79 El Camino.

Thanks, Louie

FYI I've bought two items from him and got both very quickly. I'd say give him until next week to answer, he may be off for the holidays you know.

I have been to EC Classics and he is in a remote area fairly close to the Ga/Ala Stateline. He is a one man operation as dabirdguy stated earlier. He is kinda pricey I agree but is an over all good guy.But I guess being a good guy does nothing for the parts you need either.I know he does go out of town alot to get Elkys and all so he maybe tied up.Yes he is hard to contact sometimes via email and by telephone.Took 3 weks for me to get an appointment to go by and buy a rear bumper from him but was satsified after I got it.

My dad just recently eBayed a speedo off him he didn't need (I explained to him after he bought it that he needs new gears to get his speedo right, the speedo is fine). Anyway my dad told me he sent quite a long email saying he was a one man operation and behind the power curve at the moment. Haven't heard if he got his speedo yet.

IMO, a little pricey too-- but then again I paid $15 for my speedo at a u-pull-it junk yard and felt that was too much too so maybe it was reasonable.

I've sent two more emails to Camino Classics and still have not heard anything. I'll just wait to see what happens. No particular rush.

Holidays or not, one man operation or an army, you shouldn't have to wait that long for ANY eBayer.

Send a notice to eBay that you have not been able to make contact with the seller. That way if you decide to get your parts elsewhere, he can't come back and say you didn't pay. You tried.

Hello All,

Just read my negative feedback from several members and wanted to offer a response.

Yes, I was a one man show. Have new employee starting at the 1st of the month. Guess thats kinda a measure of success. Now maybe my 14 hour days will only be 12 hour ones.

No, I dont do phone well. As Vietnam vet, former shooter and machinist I have 30% hearing loss in both ears. Doing business on phone also means there you have to keep notes on what is said and what is quoted. Email does both for you. It is also difficult to get to the phone when your day is usually spent in or under an EC.

As an lover, owner and driver of ECs I dicker for the items I want or need. To date I have had only 3 customers who counter offered on my quotes or made a direct offer outside the eBay format. Come on guys, you have all sold parts/cars. Is your asking price always your bottom line???? eBay prices have to be high. I am offering over 200 items a week and they all don't sell every time and then there is PayPal with their add on for processing the payments.

My love affair with EC which began in 66 with my first 65 is now my "job" and I love it. Work my own hours usually 12 noon to 4-5 AM, sleep in my own bed, and deal with my vehicle of choice. Someday maybe I will even get my own finished.

Sorry we do not have a web site. We are still one of "the little guys". Just email your needs and we will respond.

To Camino Classics

I am the person who started this link. My problem was that I not only called you three times with no response, I also emailed you five times, with no response. The only time I heard from you was when you complained to Ebay that I had not paid you yet. As a frequent Ebay user, I always pay immediately after I win an auction. This I did not do with you as I was trying to purchase several more parts from you and wanted to get prices and shipping.

When I did pay, I emailed a sixth time to let you know what was going on and still received no response. The two items did arrived quickly without error.

To summarize, you do ship quickly and your items are as described, however, you do not return calls or emails.

I certainly will not use Camino Classics again.

You picked the forum, so let the members be the judge.

Here is a history of my attempts to contact you.

YES I have the items in stock or I would not have quoted them. You could also tell I am "around" by searching sold or selling on eBay.

If you want them send your ship to address so I can quote shipping on all 5 items combined.

I do not do phone well. Shop has a wireless and is steel and over 100' from sending unit. Also have 2 other buildings I store parts in-not to mention being in or under an EC when the phone rings or out tending the "farm".

Let's settle this. It has been too time consuming. I am also forwarding this to your other email address so there can be NO MISCOMMUNICATION.

Jim

Have:

Plastic battery tray 16..95
Inst Panel blackout -white trim 4.95
Speedo cable-2 piece wo adaptor 29.99

Happy to combine shipping on all items.

No tailgate weatherstripping I would resell. Gets brittle with age and probably would not survive shipping or reinstallation.

TY for emailing about your needs. I have over $30000 of inventoried used parts, $10000 in NOS GM and $5000 in repro stock. Have 4 ECs waiting to be stripped.

1. Your plastic battery tray at $17.00
2. Tailgate weatherstripping.
3, Ebay item 7943007139, Instrument Panel Blackout for $5.00 (the top one looks the best)
4. Upper and lower speedo cables (without cruise, with the gear adaptor)
