After a little research and a general dislike of painting, I bought the Eastwood Hotcoat powder coat kit about 2 months ago. Boy, what a godsend this system has proven to be! Powder coating is insanely simple and the finish is awesome and extremely tough. The plastic resing coatings are impervious to most chemicals and brake fluids as well.
To date I have powder coated all my suspension parts and engine brackets. A buddy at work gave me an old electric kitchen stove and it is perfect for the task. The Eastwood gun is a bit cheap and flimsy, but in reality it is a very simple system to begin with. It is way easier than painting and you don't have the fumes and all the clean-up/overspray issues.
I recommend the delux kit for starters and order the performance spray tip. It is crucial that your powder coat parts are cleaned to bare metal so a good blast cabinet is critical as well. Eastwood has loads of powders now in all colors imagineable, including translucents and high temps.
