Kansascamino 01-16-2005, 02:23 PM NOTICE REGION 12: Here is the big event for this year, I would like to see 100 El Camino's show up for this event.
MIDWEST REGIONAL SHOW
JULY 21-23 2005
WICHITA, KANSAS
WICHITA MARRIOTT HOTEL
9100 CORPORATE HILLS DRIVE
This event is hosted by the Wichita Area Chevelle Owners and all 1964-1987 El Camino's are welcome to attend this show. There will be a large number of awards and cash drawings. I will also attempt to get some sponsors to provide Awards by the National El Camino Association at this show. There will be seperate Classes for the El Camino's so everyone will have a chance to win awards at this show. So if you want to have a good time and meet lots of other El Camino owners, this is your chance. I look forward to a large number of members coming to this show. See ya at the show!!!
RedElky 01-26-2005, 10:47 AM Mike,
I have a flyer I got last year that said this show was on the 17th and 18th of June. When did they change the dates? I'm assuming that it the same show that you are talking about. ...the 18th Annual Midwest Chevelle Regional right?
Brian
Kansascamino 01-26-2005, 11:11 AM The date was moved due to confilicts with the hotel they are using. The July dates are now correct, they still have not gotten a price established for the entry fee. As more information is available I will post it here in Region 12 forum. They are working on a live band, a free meal and other things that will be included in the price of the entry fee. If you would like to have a cheaper room I can advise of other hotels that are in the area also. Any questions just send me an e-mail.
RedElky 01-26-2005, 11:21 AM Sounds good Mike. I'm glad you posted this because I was still planning on the previous dates.

72 El Camino 02-22-2005, 12:45 AM Any idea what the classes are? Just kind of curious, I'm 17 and am lookin to show my Elky, but its nowhere near some of the cars Ive seen so, I was just wondering if there was gonna be like a daily driver class or what. Thanks, Kyle
Kansascamino 02-22-2005, 06:23 AM There will be many classes but there will also be participant judging class where you vote. The people in the that class just vote on the cars they want to win, no judging is done. There will be around 10 awards in that class so that would be the one I would recomend that you enter. The entry fee is has now been set at $30.00 and that will include the pool party with live music and a free meal. They will also do the 1000 point judging in all of the traditional classes. I will try to post a flyer on this site if I can get that accomplished or add a link for you to get to one.

Kyle,
its not "about" the judging...its about folks with a common interest hanging out, having a good time, and learning things about the hobby that they might not otherwise be exposed to without a gathering of this type. You come, bring your car, and you'll have a great time. :)

72 El Camino 02-22-2005, 05:27 PM yeah, I guess I never really thought of it that way, but I guess i gotta get the car done before I can take it anywhere... Well Im pretty sure Ill be there so look for me, and not to sound cocky but Im pretty sure my car will stick out, or atleast a 17y.o. drivin it will. The whole event soudns liek a good opportunity and all, so thanks.
RedElky 04-17-2005, 05:22 PM does anyone know if there is a registration form for this show yet?? I'm not finding it on the web, and the first person on the "contact" list is not responding to my email.

72 El Camino 05-15-2005, 08:59 PM Is there usually a lot of sponsers, like OPGI, NPD, ect there? And like are there performance dealers there too, and is there a swap meet?
Kansascamino 05-15-2005, 09:24 PM No to all of the above! It is a social event for chevelle and El Camino owners to show off there cars. It is mostly a huge car show with some fun thrown in.
