Has anyone ever seen a '68 SS396 El with 4spd and vinyl top? I have been searching on Collector Car Trader and through Photo Traders and everywhere else but have never found one. I'm not sure one even exists. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

In answer to your question ,yes there was an option starting in 67 elkys for a vinal roof which could be had with the big block and 4 sp trans.I got the info from the book published by Brooklands books titled El Camino&SS Muscle Portfolio 1959-1987.Hopes this helps. 8)

I guess you meant a vinyl roof.Tthe book made no mention of an actual soft top like a convertable.

Yeah, I meant Vinyl top not convertible :oops: But I've never seen one that had the top, a 4spd and big block on the same car. I not sure anyone ever orderd one with these three options. As soon as I find one I want to buy it. :) I don't want to hold out for a car that doesn't exist :-(

were are you located? I restored one 6 years ago and sold it to a friend, he is thinking about selling it.its about 6 miles away from kci airport

ive got a friend with a 68 el camino , its a SS 396 375hp M-22 4spd 3:73 , its a numbers matching elco , its hugger orange black vinal top , manual drum brakes , manual stering , buckets console , other than that is bare bones

and i have seen quite a few with the vinal tops
