Hey guys I know that I have kinda badmouthed the LS1s here but after reading all the good press on those engines and looking at a couple of swaps into a 1st and 3rd gen Camaro at the local cruise nite I'm thinking I might want to swap one into my 5th Gen Elky. A friend of mine will give me a good deal on a LS1 from a 2001 Camaro with the 4L60E trans, ecu and complete wiring harness. Is there anybody out there that that has done the swap and is willing to talk to me on the phone about it. I am a very experienced hotrodder and have welding and fabrication skills which I think will be required. Leave me a PM if you agree to talk to me about it. Thanks.

Check out John's site http://www.montecarloss.com/ls1montecarloss/ he was one of the first to put an LS1 into a G-body. He is also a moderator at www.ls1tech.com in the Hybrid section.

You even have the option now of doing an LS1 with a carburator.

Also much of what will need to be done is the same as an LT1 with the exception of needing to either notch the crossmember or notch the oil pan for clearance.
