jus wanted to drop in and say hello, ya'll got a nice board here, i like it.. i jus recently purchased a 1980 El Camino, and i will admit so far so good, ive never owned a Chevy in my life so this is a new experience fer me all together.. im sure i will be asking some questions cause im gonna need all the help i can get..

as fer the ride, well, this is what i was told when i bought it..
1980 El Camino
brande new crate 350 with a larger cam installed, rebuilt trans with a shift kit in it, headers with custom exhaust, brand new suspension all the way around (springs and shocks), told me the front steering componets were off a Camaro (im not fer sure about this, but its all new parts), as for everything else on it im learning as i go.. lol.. as i said before this is my first chevy so i dunno much, but im wanting to do alot of werk to it..

tell me ifn any of this is possible, im guessing it is, but i dunno fer sure. i was wanting to goto late 80's Iroc wheels, and i would like to do the interior as much as possible in like Monte Carlo stuff, guages and all, is all this possible?? im guessing so, but as i said again i jus dunno..

as fer my self ill introduce myself as John, im the webmaster on a lil website called www.ModernMopars.org and during the day i werk on and deliver spa's.. i live in the DFW area of Texas..

looking fer help on this project and am willing to discuss any and all cars with anyone, so please someone help me out as i would greatly appreciate it..

thanx again..

John

Welcome to ECC John! You've made a good choice for your first Chevrolet product.

Maybe the previous owner ment that the steering box was from a Camaro? The quick ratio ones will fit if you put a G-body pitman arm on it.

The 15X8 IROC rims fit best if you use four front rims. The rears have a different offset than the fronts.

And thank God for the Monte Carlo SS, without it how else would we replace dashs and instrument clusters in the 5th generation El Camino. It is an easy swap to do, but you will need to do some rewiring and adding of oil pressure and temp sensors.

Next question please. :-D
