Hey Tim -- What's your take on the new Chevy Cobalt?? Does it have anything going for it that car enthusiasts might like?

I was looking into the the new Cobalt myself, and it seems to be nothing more than a supercharged re-designed cavalier. It's pretty bad when chevy has to answer to "ricer buner" market by building a supercharged 4 banger. I guess it is smart on a marketing stand point. At 208hp for a small car and a manual trans, it might be fun to drive but that "shopping cart handle" spoiler has got to go! They are inexpensuve and appeal to the younger generations (like myself). Personally, if had an extra $35,000 to spend I would not even hesitate to buy the new GTO, that is a real bad car!! -Matt

I like a lot of the aspects of that OCC Lincoln bike. NICE (for the most part)

Boy, that Charger is a long way from what it used to be. What a joke!! At least the new Mustang looks like a newer version of the Mach 1.

As far as the Cobalt being a redesigned Cavalier i know that GM did a lot of research as to what it's younger customers were looking for and most of em wanted an American car that would be competitive with the Japanese tuner cars. The Cobalt is a direct result of customer input.GM went to SEMA and paid attention this time.Like it or not ricers have had a big impact on car sales and the aftermarket parts for said cars.Besides,it would do my heart good if an American built Cobalt can kick the crap outta some of those Hondas with the coffee can exhaust extensions.I hope they sell a ton of em seeing as how i build em for a living. :P

I hope so too! It would be great to see a car with a "bowtie" and a coffee can exhaust! LOL, regardless of the fact that it is an American car, the younger generation will still stick loud coffe can exhausts, large spoilers, loud stereo systems, and neon lighting. (I am starting sound like my parents!) At least this time it will be an American car! I am all for it! -Matt

im all for the cobalt regardless of it being a rice rocket, it'll just smash on the others and then american cars will be dominate! muwahahaha! i love those damn commericals for teh cobalt tho, i like the one with the 3 of the models playing with the ball with that weird voice singing. haha. but what i all care about now is american powered vehicles ruling the roads, not no damn foreign cars unless its a ferrari or porsche :P

The Supercharged SS Cobalt seems promising 8) It looks like a great replacement/upgrade from the Cavalier! What enthusiast wouldn't love a supercharger :D
