I want to swap the idiot lights in my 80 elky for an ss dash setup with the tach and gauges. what do I need besides the cluster? this is going on a 95 camaro lt1 engine, so if I need any different sending units where can I get them? thanks.

also is the tach on the ss cluster compatible with the tach signal from the camaro? thanks

When I swapped mine, it wasn't a big production. I would highly recommend a good wiring schematic.

The cluster has one multi-wire connector and a bzillion bulbs (which do their best NOT to illuminate the dash). I don't remember if I had to change any if the wires around in the connector, but if you compare the schematic to the cluster template you can easily figure it out. The only extra wire I had to run was for the tach. That wire goes through the firewall to the distributor.

While you've got the dash apart, I would change out the stock bulbs for brighter bulbs. I remember I also painted the back with white paint for better reflection. The bulbs you should look for are: Sylvania 2825, Wagner 17177, Phillips 12961, or GE WSW. I found one brand at AutoZone.
