lt1 95 camaro
aside from removing the egr, air pump and all hoses for them. then blocking off the ports in the exhaust manifold.
what else is there? do I need to do anything with the electrical side of things, like the air pump has a connector on it? will the ecm sense something is up and throw a code or does it not care?
thanks.

Yes the air pump needs to be deleted from the ECM.

how??
is it with a rom editor, internal dip switch, or one of the handheld programmers that plugs into the service connector?
thanks again

LT1edit, CATS etc. Software running on a laptop and reflashing the ECM. Or if you send it off to someone to do, pcmforless.com or others. With the changes that need to be made to the ECM to eliminate VATS, setup the rear gears, rear tire size etc just add it to the list to change when it is reflashed.
Most of the handheld stuff is really limited in what they can do.

Poltergiest, is the 95 ecm different from the 94? I've eliminated the air pump from two LT1"s without going into the ecm, but both of them were 94's. In fact, I believe there is a service bulletin out that says the elimination of the air pump was permitted under federal guide lines. Just wondering......

The service bulleting was for 95s and up. Not for 93 & 94s. There may be something different with the 95. My understanding is that the code had to turned off in the ECM. But I half way remember that if a relay (or something else) was left in then the code would come up. Can't remember cause it was a couple years and few thousand problems ago.

Is the lt1edit a downloaded software. or does a seperate unit need to be purchased to interface with the ecu. I have the laptop that I use for my honda, and a willem eprom burner if the chip actually has to be burned.
any info on this or a website with the info, thanks

You have to buy (or make) a separate cable to interface with the ECM. You then have to download software from carputing.com that will let you download the bin file from the ECM you email this bin file to carputing and they use information in the file to lock the software to this ECM only. Then they email the software to you and you can start using it. The ECM are directly flashed there are no chips that you pull out and burn.
Not sure how it is done with the other software out there. I believe Robert (acauth1) uses CATS.
