I remember seeing somewhere about the problems with upgrading the front brakes on g-body cars by using b-body parts. I used the "search" and found the guys that did their Monte Carlos but used aftermarket upper control arms. Somewhere, I've seen where you can use the stock b-body uppers and use offset control shafts but can't find the source for this. I absolutely refuse to pay the money for the Global West or Hotchkis upper control arms!!!!
There is a Caprice wagon in my neighborhood that I think I can buy for pretty cheap so I can rob the front end off and can the rest. :bomb:

There is a good forum on putting 12 inch LS1 brakes on the G body spindles on www.montecarloss.com
I just finished installing them on my 86. The nice part is that you don't need to change control arms. I used the stock rotors and made hubs out of them using a 7 inch sidewinder grinder. No machine shop was involved.
The hardest part is aligning the caliper bracket with the rotor.
Below is the site of an excellent article on disc brakes.

Thanks Redryder, I was looking at the MC website earlier to find the articles but didn't find what I was hoping to. I'm pretty much looking for the "bolt on swap" without all the cutting and fabbed up brackets to make it work...... but I'm not spending the $$$$ for a bolt on swap from a brake kit company.
