Im doing a frame off resto when the army lets me go home, and i wanted to know what a better finish for the frame is, Powdercoated or Por-15. Im not really concerned about flash but i do want one that wont chip or crack as well as being somewhat cost effective.

Also, the rear tire clearance is terrible on 64's so i wanted to get some help on narrowing the frame and picking out a rear end suspension. I was leaning toward the truckarm style but im not really sure. I'd like to use tires in the 315/45/17 range.

Currently doing a frame-off on my '71 and I POR'd the frame. That stuff is rock hard and looks great. 1/2 quart will cover it in two coats. I wish I did a little better jobs sanding the frame though. I POR'd the rear end as well and that turned out good too.

I also bought an Eastwood powder coat kit and powder coated all my suspension parts (and anything else that would fit in my oven). I much prefer the powder coating. I think the finish is better and more durable. I'm not sure what it would cost to have large pieces powder coated.
