: C5 Injectors on a TPI?

Fellas... I have the car up and running with a few details to figure out. Thanks for all of the advise so far...

Another question... I am running 1998 Corvette C5 fuel injectors with my Speed Density TPI setup. The car will idle, just fine, but, there is some tuning issues that I can't get resolved. I have done some research, and need to know if I need to get my ecu reprogrammed to work correctly with these injectors. The factory settings are approximately 4.83 milligrams of fuel with a 2.5 millisecond pulse or 23.92 lbs per hr at approximately 43.5 PSI. My C5 injectors are 28.4 lbs/hr @ I don't know PSI :? ...

Other research has shown that I can make these injectors work correctly with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. If this is the case, where can I find out what the appropriate psi is for these injectors?

If it is a ecu issue, anyone know of anybody that does these reprograms? Will I need a new memcal? Can I just get a reprogrammed chip, and plug it into my ecu without getting a new memcal?

Thanks in advance...

I believe they are rated at 55ish PSI. As far as the ECM programming is concerned go here.

http://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=16

Here you will find any and everything you want to know about TPI and programming it. I would spend the money and purchase the equip to program yourself as it can yield enormous driveability and power improvements over a mailorder chip.

I first startes out with a 86 MAF based system then went to a MAP system and started doing my own programming due to my engine combination.

I post there under the same name.

Wow 8O 8O 8O ...

That place is like TPI heaven. Thanks for the tip. I will have to do some more research, but, right now, it seems that I will need slightly higher fuel pressure, and a custom burned chip....

Thanks again...

If you are running the C5 injectors leave the pressure at stock levels.

Well, I got my custom chip in the mail today from www.tbichips.com. Don't let the name fool ya, they do work for tpi chips as well. I will be installing it sometime this week. I will keep you posted...

Thanks again for the advice...

Alright fellas... I got the new custom chip installed. I must say, that it is amazing how everything works when it is all in harmony. With the old chip, I thought I would never get that darn thing running. I simply installed the custom chip, and she is running as smooth as silk. She was spitting and sputtering at first, but, after I drove it down the street, I guess the computer had a chance to adjust to it's new surroundings, and the engine had a chance to run above an idle, and get warmed up. When I came back from my brief drive, I was amazed at how smooth it was. It would idle like it was supposed to, and not die out all of the time. No smoking or anything... It will fire right up, and idle without me playing with the gas pedal, it shifts smoothly.

Y'all gotta excuse my rambling. This is my first fuel injection project, and I am just happy as hell :D :-D :) :-) :o 8) 8-) :-P
Finally all of this money, time, and knuckle busting has paid off!!!!

Thanks to everyone for their help!!! One of these days, I will have some time to post some pics.

If anyone has any questions about this conversion, hollar at me. I actually learned a couple of things through this project...

Thanks again everyone...
