Hopefully someone from Ok will have your answer. All states seem to do something different. Here in Michigan I just have to get a form from our Secretary of State office ( licence/tag office ), then get the local Police/sheriff to come out and inspect the VIN, then turn the form over to the Secretary of State office, along with about $10-15 and wait about a week. They ( S of S ) then do a title search and if there is no lein on it, they issue a new title. It's a nice system they have here, but your state will no doubt be different. I hope there is an easy way for you. Sure hope you don't have to go the lowly, opps, I meant lawyer route. Bob

In Rhode Island, any vehicle older than ten years doesn't need a title to be sold or registered.
