Luke, I'm surprised you didn't get a ton of different opinions on your question. LOL.
Anyway, I use a product that is made directly in your state. Go check out Zaino Products (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc). Use their products and you'll never go back to regular wax again. The stuff makes your Elky shine likes a baby's a$$. 8)

They have a section on their web site that gives the instructions to get the most out of their product. Basicly, get their product. Get a couple of the towels they recommend, or get some from Doninique France Motorsport (http://www.dftowel.com/). The owner is Leo, an ECC member and they give us a discount.

Wash your Elky with Dawn dishwasher soap to remove all the old wax buildup. Only use Dawn this one time before you apply the Zaino. Then use their "claybar" on the whole vehicle. Wash and dry again. Now your Elky is ready to apply the Zaino polish. Follow the directions and apply three coats. You will be frigon amazed at how easy it goes on and off and the "wet look" is just awesome.

Anyway, just my 2 cents worth.

I work at a detail shop and the best thing you can do for your paint especially if you drive a lot is to clay it. Take a piece clay made for paint and clay away all of the particles you can't see. Makes for a ultra smooth car. I have seen it work wonders even though i live in massachusetts. Also auto magic makes some good waxes

Hey Tim. Where in MA are you located? What year El Camino do you have? I'm the New England regional director for ECC/NECOA. Send me an email at jlevitan@holycross.edu if you want me to add your name, email, and Elky details to our regional email list. There are a few of us that attend car shows together and we are ALWAYS looking to have other ECC/NECOA members join us. I try and get to car show's or cruises in CT., RI., NH, and of course, MA.

Regardless, keep adding your expertise within this detailing forum.

I totally agree that Zaino is a great polish, especially on a dark color. Recently I tried Meguiars NXT generation and found the results equal to Zaino, dries a little quicker and less likely to streak.
