Is there a way to add some material on the left- top -side edge of my new tailgate? The gate lines up pretty good except for a larger gap half way down the left top edge...I have heard of welding 1/8 in welding rod to the edge to fill the gap and then grind to fit....is this the way to do it?

On mine I spent quite a bit of time welding gringing fitting to get the gap correct. So yes I would say that is the best way.
