The LT-1 I am installing in my '71 comes out of a '94 Corvette. The engine has been sitting on a pallet for a few years, and we are concerned that the springs in the injectors may have taken a "set".
Does anyone have any practical information regarding this? If I have to, I will send them out to get them refurbished. Anybody know of a good company that provides a good refurb' svc?

While I haven't used this place the Impala guys really seem to think highly of it. http://www.cruzinperformance.com/

I have not heard of an injector taking a 'set'. To the best of my knowledge an injector is open or closed. When voltage is applied it's open otherwise closed. But I will admit I am not the most knowledgeable in regards to injectors.

You got it, Poltergeist, injectors are normally closed and opened by a little solenoid inside.

After the engine has been sitting a few hears with the fuel system open, there's bound to be some crud in the lines, so injector cleaning/servicing would be a good idea for that reason. Clean and blow out the rest of the fuel supply manifold while the injectors are out.

The TPI system I installed in my 72 sat for several years B4 I installed it. On startup 1 of the injectors wouldn't fire (took quite a bit of troubleshooting for ignorant me to figure that out). Anyway, a few taps with a screwdriver handle on the injector body unstuck it. Apparently the old fuel sitting in there had gummed it up just enuff.

BTW - you can actually hear the clicking of the injector solenoid with a mechanics stethescope - thats how I knew that the injector wasn't firing.
