IT DOESNT FIT!!!
It always sucks to buy somthing nice for your car, such as a new polished fuel pump and find out that it doesnt fit.

I have a 79 w/350 and the motor mount is in the way of the pump and it won even bolt on let alone get the fuel inlet in there. sigh, such is life

so if you plan on getting a new pump make sure it has atleast the fuel inlet below the pump instead of on the side.

You need the adaptor from Edlebrock that changes the inlets to the bottom of the pump. You can find them on ebay for less than $20 or http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?Ntt=edelbrock+bottom+feed&x=37&y=11&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&searchinresults=false&N=0&target=egnsearch.asp

I just put an Edelbrock performer mecahnical fuel pump on and it barely fit into place. The bottom feeder adapter plate was necessary. It fits in snuggly.

My Pops has the chrome version on his 468 BB in his hot rod and he had to tighten up the hex nuts around the bottom (13 or 14 of them) when the pump started leaking.

Once that was done, it worked fine. He mentioned something about being able to swap out the diaphragm when it goes, instead of junking it.

I've never used anythiing but Chevy replacement fuel pumps so I have no direct experience with aftermarket pumps.
