Howdy,

I just finished installing the Edelbrock Pro-Flo EFI on a bored out 402. My problem is my fuel tank. I can't seem to position the return far enough away with my small opening to not aerate the fuel on the intake side.

The system works fine for a while, then my fuel pump starts to whine and she stalls, stutters and dies.

Is there a fuel tank that will fit the '72 with an in-tank fuel pump/sending unit? I'd rather not go the custom built one if I don't have to.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! I need to get her on the road on a regular basis.

There's a sump that you can add to the bottom of your tank. You can find it at Summit just look under this: Competition Engineering Fuel Tank Sump Kits. One of the Online Car Mags has a article on how to install it. Basically, you decide and fit where your going to place it. Next using a hole saw, cut holes into the bottom of your tank where you have decided to mount it. Then weld the sump kit in place and reinstall.

On last thing this needs to be done with the tank drained and removed from the vehicle. Also don't forget to let the tank air-out first.
