quick question see ifn anyone could possibly help me out here..

my speedo needle bounces alot, about a 10 mile an hour bounce.. basically kinda +/-5 on either side of the speed yer going, the other problem i have with it, is that it like cuts my speed in 1/2 cause i notice when im out on the highway, where the speed limit it like 65-70 and i know everyone is doing atleast that fast, but my speedo reads like 35.. has anyone else had problems like this.. the speedo i got is not the round one its the long sweeping rectangular one ifn that means anything or not..

Speedometers are a mechanical device. The bouncing or slipping effect is normally caused by a worn cable. Best suggestion I can offer is to pick up a replacement speedometer cable. Lubing a worn cable hasn't ever helped me.

Should be able to pick one up at the dealer. The worn ones I have see become slightly rounded causing the slippage. If the cable slips where it mates into the speedometer, the slipping produces a low reading.

Hey if lubing it doesn't fix the problem and replacing the cable doesn't fix the problem then it is your Cruise Master controller on the fenderwell. I've taken two of them off. They are a piece of junk. They're about 50 to 150 depending on where you can locate them. I think it also depends on if you look desperate or not also. :D
