Not recommended for painted plastic
While cleaning the vent covers that were dirty, and covered with paint overpray, I used Gunk engine degreaser, apply to clean cloth, spray about a 3 inch circle to cloth, wipe onto plastic let sit for 5 min. Rub plastic with same cloth, reapply as needed, I rubbed the over spray (3 paint jobs)
with cloth covered finger nail (lightly, dont try to scratch plastic) after letting sit for 20 min. I sprayed 409 directly to plastic and rubbed clean,
then I sprayed plastic with oil protectant that brought back the shine .
This removed so much grime I just had to share it. My car had sat in a yard without glass for two years, it had about 7 coats of paint on exterior.
