Does anybody have an idea on what a '79 Elky with good paint job and body but high miles on it would be worth? It's a friend of mine and they want to sell it...Ball park?
Thanks,
7t2ss

Hey 7T2SS,
What are high miles? I paid 3K for mine with a nice paint job, body and 124k on the speedo. If it runs good, and has very little rust I would say somewhere in the $3000 range. Maybe some of the other members can tell you better than I what they are worth in your area. Regards, Rick

$3K sounds about right for around here too...assuming it's also mechanically sound.

$3000 sounds about right to me too. Although if the interior is in very good shape then you might be able to get a bit more out of it.

I gave 3 grand for my 78 with under 100,000 miles. Next to perfect body & paint, minor mechanic issues.

I paid $1,000 for my 80 5 years ago, but it turned out to have all kinds of problems that the used car lot dick failed to tell me. V6 mounts on a V8. 305 that wouldn't do 45 downhill. Bent frame. Bad interior. But I'd have to say it's worth about $5,000 now.
Be patient and ask alot of questions. If there's not much wrong with it, then $3,000 would be worth it to not have alot of work to do.
IS SPRING EVER GONNA GET HERE?!?!?!?!
p.s. Elcamino gal would be the resident expert. Look at what's in her stable! lol
