Those two items are basicly all you need to do to eliminate the comp. on a minimum level. Either afetmarket units, or ones off a pre-computer car. More involved (and cleaner) method would be to change the wire harness along with the carb and intake.

You could switch out the harness- but thats alittle bit of a task. Cutting the computer out all togther with cause your idiot lights to go...idiot. Mine did. I pulled the bulbs and that solved it.(redneck solution...) good luck!
