I was eyeballing an old jc whitney catalog the other day and thought, "Man it would be cool to have a sliding back window nin the elky"
The I thought, "No, how about a power rear window"
Started looking at my old blazer's back window and I don't think it would be that hard to do.
Has anyone out there ever come across one or tried it?
Just thought I might ask before I go ripping into my old blazer....

A friend if mine mentioned that to me a few years ago and got me thinking. I think it would totally be possible to do it on a 4th gen Camino because of the flat glass. It would be alot of work but much easier to do than a 5th gen.

I seem to recall a 5th I saw that was that way. They had split the back window att he part where it started its curve on either side. The center section was power. I believe that Ford or someone a long, long time ago did this on a car, I remember an uncle of mine having one that did that. I don''t remember what type of car it was.

I have a link at home to a company that makes a slider for the elky back window. Not sure which generations they stock though. And its not electric. :( If you're interested email me. Growing up, a friends father had a Mercury ( 60-63??) in which the center section of the rear window slid down behind the rear seat.

The car you guys are trying to think of is a 1957 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser (http://www.lovefords.org/mom/04_07_a.htm)

Mercury did the sliding rear window section with the Monterey models also.

I wouldn't want one, the airflow thru the interior would be too much and would probably blow my " I Love Chevy Trucks" hat off my head and then muss my hair all up...all three of them.

Neat idea, but the rear windows are enough of a water problem as they are.
