Hi Dave. We are kinda lucky here in region 2 that MJwrabbit (Michelle) is actually a member of the East Coast Camaro Club and is on their board of directors. I had some communication with her and she went to bat for us to create an El Camino class for their show. We just have to drum up at least 10 El Camino's to go to this show.

I have heard from one other region 2 member, from Cape Cod, that will attend. Plus, I figured you and I would go. So we have to drum up another seven members between now and September.

Put this one on your calender, it will be a great show.

Hi Guys!

It is so new that I have not finished the flyer yet!! You are the first ones to hear of it! :D

I should have a preliminary flyer done by the end of next week.

I saw 2 Elkys today in a guys driveway down the street. I'm going to stop by and give them some flyers. Do you have any members in Tewksbury, MA?

If you have any specific questions about the show, myself or any of the contacts on the website would be happy to answer them.

This is going to be a GREAT show!!! I can't wait!!! :D

Hi Michelle. Not sure, but I think we do have some members in Tewksbury. But because it is not a requirement of the site to list where you live, I'm not 100% sure. I'll email you one of our flyers for El Camino Central / NECOA, so that if your dropping off flyers, maybe you can drop one of ours also. Thanks!

We will be beating the drum for this show!

Thanks.

Oh yea, check out the Super Chevy show in July at New England Dragway. Can you make that show? More details and a seperate thread on that one.

I have an 82 el camino, i hope you don't mind that it is a fifth generation el camino, i hope it's not too new for this show. i put in a 350 with a 700r4 tranny. i hope to have a good paint job done by the end of my summer vacation. check it out on the last page of the fifth gen gallery. Hope to meet as many el camino owners as i can up at this show.

I know I sent an email to you with this info, but here it is anyway. :)
I've never been to this particular car show, but in general a car show usually flows something like this: The organizer of the show has a parking lot or a grass field set up just for the show cars. They usually have an assigned area for different makes. So, all the El Camino's and Ranchero's will be parked together. We don't have to arrive together. Most of the time I show up when the show "registration" or gates open. But that is me and I'm one of those early type personalities. After you arrive, you pay a small fee to enter (unless you have pre-paid to pre-register). They will then point you in the direction where the other El Camino's are parked. You go to the assigned area and back in like all the other El Camino's / Ranchero's. I try not to park to close (like supermarket parking lot parking) as you want to leave a little extra room between vehicles.

I bring some fold-able chairs, cooler, and snacks. I also bring some cleaning supplies. I'll clean up some of the travel road grime and set up a poster of my Elky. At some car shows, I've set up one of those portable canopy's for some shade. Kinda depends on where they stick us, the weather, and if the canopy is permitted.

I also bring along a camera and I take some pictures of cars, people, etc. Most of the shows are a little laid back and you just relax, check out cars, check out any vendors, eat some food, etc. and relax. Most shows have some type of raffle going on, so you can purchase tickets.

I think this is a "peoples judged" show. What that means, is that you will get a "ballot", and you walk around looking at all the different cars in a class and "vote" for the one you like. Other car shows actually have judges go around and judge each vehicle. Regardless of which type of judging happens, sometime after lunch, usually around 2:00, the awards or trophies are presented. After that, we usually just pack up and go home.

I have an 82 el camino, i hope you don't mind that it is a fifth generation el camino, i hope it's not too new for this show.

Of course we don't mind. I would say that the majority of our regional members have 5th gens. Your in good company.

Hope this helps and lets see if others add to this post.

Im going to go to this one. I wana pre register but what class do i put down, do i just write El Camino?

hope to see you guys the last weekend of july!!!!

*edit* I think theres a mistake on the pre reg sheet, if you read it it says "$10 pre registration before 8/20, $15 at the gate", on the top, then in the spot with the raffle tickets it says "Show registration $12" so what would i send, $10 or $12???

and never mind about the class question above lol, i didnt read trough it, i found the El camino Ranchero class. i need to sleep lol

Now that's not quite true. Jay usually gets to the car shows about two hours before the people organizing the show get there.

I noticed that to. I sent them $10 and figure if I owe them a few dollars, they will tell me when I get there.

Your to funny.LOL. I know your playin....but funny thing is, I may be early, but I'm never the first one in line at a show. There is always a bunch of people that show up REAL early. Dian always looks at me funny for going early. A large Dunkin Doughnuts coffee for her always goes a long way.

just a couple more questions, for club do i put National El Camino Owners Association? or do i just put necoa? and are we putting our club ID number in the vehicle # space? like would i put 3269?

And we gata get the best club award guys so we need lots of you to attend this show.

thanks

I would put in " National El Camino Owners Association". For the most part, car clubs putting on shows do not know what "NECOA" stands for. Do not put anything in the "Vehicle # box, that is for the sponsor club to use.

Hope it helps. :-)

It is peer judging and the members of The East Coast Camaro Club cannot vote in the Camaro classes. Not that that will effect you but I just thought I'd let it be known. 8)

hows this sound?
Burger King
232 Daniel Webster Hwy, Nashua, NH (7.11 miles away)
603-888-6496
looks like you can get to it right off of everet turnpike. Im trying to find the exit number but am not having any luck, also if you look at the map that mapquest gives you, on the way to the show you pass through a gate and it says (permission) what dose that mean??? well what do you guys think? I picked burger king because we could get some food before the show.

cant wait to see all you guys again
Thanks

08-28-2005, 03:38 PM
Whatever you decide David. You know the area the best. I only really know where the Nashua Mall is, which is a little further north towards the show.

If you could double check on the exit numbers on where ever you decide, that would be great. I'll be coming up from MA via Rt. 3. Once you decide on a place, we can determine a time to meet. I know Isagani wanted to get there early, but I'm not sure exactly how early. I should be able to meet anywhere you guys decide and whatever time.

Keep us informed and thanks for organizing this.

caspiantiger
08-31-2005, 08:25 PM
Well i did some research, it was really tough to find the exit number but i did it. I had to look up a hotel on the same road and look at there directions.

I believe your directions to get to the show from your homes will eventually take you to the everet turnpike, the burgerking i posted above is located just off of exit 1 on the everet turnpike. its roughly a 15 min drive to the show from there. Heres a hint, dont mapquest from your house to the burger king, it will take you on a different route. so remember its exit 1 off the everet turnpike, and then a right onto spit brook road, then left onto daniel webster highway. it is on that road, not to far after you turn. just so you can check the exit number yourself, go to the directions of this hotel.

http://www.hotelshelp.com/hotel_information/LCVYV/Red_Roof_Inn_Nashua/Nashua/NH

and to get to the show from there you just go back on the turnpike and go north all the way till the end and take a slight right.

MJwrabbit
09-01-2005, 05:37 AM
The directions on the flyer says:

"exit 8 off F.E. Everett Highway, right on Amherst St."

The address to the college is 505 Amherst St., Nashua.

I hope that helps and doesn't cause any confusion.

that all sounds pretty good, just give a time when you guys feel like meeting at the BK. that way i'll be able to figure out what time i have to leave my house in the morning.

man, this show is coming up pretty fast. i just painted the car, so i need to start puttting it back together and try to get the interior decent. just so you all know, mine is definately still a work in progress, so it doesn't exactly have the best interior, but the engine and body are definately starting to come together.

Lets see what David comes up with, but I'd figure we can leave BK around 7:30- 7:45????? Not exactly sure how long it would take to get to the show. Anybody can arrive at any time earlier at BK if they want to eat breakfast or whatever.

Either way, lets get a time set and I will email the rest of the region to see if anybody else wants to meet us there.

Ok, i have mapquested burger king for a few hours now trying to figure it out. I think i got it. The Burger king i stated is off exit 1 on 3everet turnpike. you can mapquest it yourself and get a shorter rout by like 2 min, or just drive past exit 8 and go down to exit 1.

Im thinking we should meet up there at 7:30, Were going to be needing a phone list from anybody planning on meeting at BK so if someones late they can call.

The region 2 won the best club suport award at the 24th anual east coast camero club carshow!!!!! It was there first year with am El Camino/Ranchero class. We had a total of 9 members cars and there were 14 total. First place went to a blue 1970 Elcamino that took first place at the super chevy show here in New England, Jay Levitan, our region 2 coordinator, took 2nd in his 1973 El Camino, and Allen Reed took 3rd in his 1983 Elcamino.

This was a great club turnout. Thank you to all who attended. That was awesome meeting up at Burger King and driving in "caravan style" to the show.

The "Best Club" award is truly for all the members. I apologize for not passing around the trophy after the awards. My fault. I posted some pictures at ECCC show (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?set_albumName=Region-2-East-Coast-Camero-Club-show-09-11-05&op=modload&name=Gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php&page=1)

David and Debbie Binder, Isagini Kimball, Sonny and Karen Carpenter, Mark and Laurie Howard, Allen and Wendy Reed, John Harris, Ernie Guelielmo, Jerry Cardella, Duane Toth, Kevin Desrouchers, Brad and myself want to especially thank Michelle Jelly from East Coast Camero Club for going way out of her way for us and championing the creation of a specific El Camino class for the show.

Kudos to Jay Levitan and all the Region 2 members who attended the show in New Hampshire (East Coast Camaro Club) and won the "Best Club Award." Fourteen El Caminos in one place was really awesome! It was good to meet our teenage members who are just starting out in the auto enthusiasts world. They learned very quickly that "Interesting People Drive Interesting Cars." Having Alan and Wendy Reed set up the hospitality tent was a great idea too. Next time, I will bring the portable grill and provide food for all ECC/NECOA members. That's a promise!

Greetings also to the members who attended the Attleboro Lions Club show that same day. Too bad we couldn't all cruise down from Nashua New Hampshire together to join up with you. Now that would have been a real sight to behold!

What a great active group we have here in New England. Keep up the fine work.
