ok I have searched here, and on other sites but I can't get a clear answer.

I have a 1980 elky that had a v6, I am putting in a 95 camaro lt1. what mounts ( clam shell with rubber) and what brackets do I use????? I have both left and right mounts and brackets from the stock v6 elky and from the 95 camaro. do I need to get the v8 elky brackets and or mounts or what??

Also the stock elky brackets were on the frame ( both sides ) and the mounts were on the engine. the camaro has 1 bracket and 1 mount on the fram and 1 mount and 1 bracket on the motor, so please be specific as to which side of the motor and frame need which part ( bracket or mount).

the motor is hooked up to the engine hoist and we didn't find out that the v6 mounts aren't working nor are the camaro ones, until we went to drop it in. please help I am in a time crunch

thanks

Use the stock V8 motor mounts. I used the ones that were from my 267 V8 and had no problems.

that's both the bracket and the clamshell mount for the older v8 gm cars correct?

Sorry been out of town. Yes just use the older V8 mounts, not the ones that came with the motor. That's what I did anyway.

I have tried every combination of the older v8 mounts and the stock v6 mounts and the engine always leans to the passenger side. The only thing left for me to do is to start cutting on the brackets to move the holes for the through bolt so that the motor will sit level.

no this is how you do it. (or how i did it) . I figered out the distance from the mounting holes on the block. Theni used the original mount but i got a clamshell from a impala ss ...same block damn near same chassic set up to. Just bigger. The impala shell has the upside down bolt pattern you will need.
