I searched the other posts but i couldnt find what the cutoff year for North Carolian smog testing is. Does anyone know?

That would be 1996. Also as a North Carolinian you should know that as of last August, state inspections are no longer required on vehicles thirty-five years old or older. If you have a 1970 or older car - no inspections!

It also depends on what county you're in. In Iredell county, they only perform OBDII testing. No Sniffers on anyone. Vehicles without OBDII only have to pass a visual inspection. ;)

yeah, i was just talking to a freind that lives near me and he said that to pass they only check to make sure you have everything that came on the car originally, guess i might have to "accedentally" drop a twenty

Either that...or ask around. There's ALWAYS someone that will "inspect" *nudge-nudge*..*wink-wink* ..and pass damn near anything.

My 78 just became smog exempt last year. Right after I had it smog tested for the last time, I installed headers & true duals. Heck it probadly runs cleaner now.

Haha, yeah alchemist, I was talkin to a friend one county over, he said there inspection guy practicly gives stikers away, as long as you had the title, figure i might give him a look
