i have a 1984 El Camino, i was wondering, i currently have a gauge cluster with the speedo and fuel gauge, my temp gauge, voltage, and oil gauge are all light activated, which sucks, i don't have a clock or tach. i saw a new gauge cluster in Original Parts Group and they had a white face gauge cluster with all of the gauges in analog, including the tach and temp, and oil and voltage. my question is that will i already have the connections for the new gauges or not? if not, what will i have to do to make it work, i already know how to hook up the tach. like the temp gauge, i know this screws into the block, do i already have this hookup?
thanks.

If you're ready to go in that far, you must decide if you really want to keep the factory appearance or are prepared to "upgrade" the entire console with other gauges. There are many very informative threads on this subject. The bottom line to your question is that whoever sells you gauges will usually tell you exactly what you need and will tell how to install. Most aftermarket gauge packages already include the sensors with them.

My 84 currently has VDO dials, but I'm considering the new TPI Quads on a carbon fiber panel.

i would recomend NOT buying the White Face Gauge DECAL! its just a decal my friend. my parents were gonan order new white gauges for me on xmas, but when they got the order it was a decal sheet. ur better off going on ebay looking for some new gauges and geting a decal sheet. and if u go over the 80mph decal liek to 140mph ur gonna have to have something calbrated to match the 140mph mark

Call up OPGI and ask about the white out gauge set. its a decal that costs $150 cause ive had it and returned it.

I too saw that for sale. Their generousity is only exceeded by their greed. For $150, they could at least have it delivered by a Hooter's waitress and kissed you on the cheek.

I love the look the white gauge stickers gave me. They were easy to install & made the gauges so much easier to see day or night. I paid a guy 15.00 around 5 years ago for the stickers.

About those different color lights on the gauges...what is involved in changing the color. I wanted to make mine like dayglo blue, but I wasn't sure if it was just finding out what bulb fit, or if I would have to change over other stuff as well.

im going to get those stickers eventually and i wanna make them a red glow, what i was gonna try to do is find the lights, replace the bulbs with a different color bulb or find some nice bright LEDS and use those, would have to ask a electric nut or a local Radio Shack. but that was my ideer.
