: Thinking about selling
mojowrkn 03-29-2005, 12:07 PM I've been thinking about doing this off & on for the past several months, but just can't take that big step. I'm spending less and less time messing with it and even less driving it. I don't like to have it just sitting there, that's not what it's for. So I'm thinkin' about letting somebody else hold the keys and give it the time it deserves. I'm sure I'll get something else to play with, something I don't feel I have to be too cautious with and that I'll drive more.
Stockish 03-29-2005, 04:13 PM How much are you asking? Bout time my Dad got one. :D
mojowrkn 03-29-2005, 05:29 PM Couldn't take a penny less than $10,000 for it. Re-connecting & charging the a/c and redoing the interior is about all that's left to do to it to have an excellent driver. I've already bought 2 of the major ($) interior pieces, those being a new dash pad & the instrument housing. Also have the a/c, heater control face plate. Completing the interior can be done for about $900 or less depending on how much of it you do yourself. You can see a picture of it here (http://elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=3553), it's the red '69 near the end. Be glad to send some pics if interested. I've got 95% of the receipts for everything that's been done to it by me.
Thanks,
Stockish 03-29-2005, 06:57 PM ehh, not really what he's lookin for, sorry, good luck finding a buyer
Tommy 03-30-2005, 08:09 PM Man, I hate to hear it. A man has got to have a toy. Put a overdrive trans in it so you can drive it more. That's what I am thinking of doing to mine.
mojowrkn 04-01-2005, 09:24 AM Okay, so I'm having second thoughts about selling. The more I think about it, it just don't make sense. These cars are just too rare & I've got too much time (not to mention $) in it to just let it go. So I'm gonna start tearing the interior out and get it right. Who knows where it may go from there.
Tommy 04-01-2005, 09:34 AM Now you are making sense! :) I bet that thing loves the gas. Any ideas to make it more "streetable?"
mojowrkn 04-01-2005, 09:53 AM It's really pretty streetable as is. It's just the fact that I gotta run 92 or 93 octane. I think the biggest reason I haven't been driving it much is that it's just very uncomfortable. The bench seat is just worn out and needs to be rebuilt. I'm probably going to put buckets in it as redo it. Thinking about Honda Accord buckets. Tommy, you got any good ideas about making brackets so I can mount a seat like that?
Tommy 04-07-2005, 04:49 AM Sorry so late replying but been super busy & a head cold that is kicking my butt. Oh yea. Been there, done that. You round some seats up & we can do it.
mojowrkn 04-07-2005, 07:25 AM Taking my little red wagon to AutoFair Saturday to see if I can find some seats, and I intend to pick up some carpet as well.
I pulled the old carpet out and scraped up the asphalt / tar paper insulation on Tuesday. My floorpans are in good shape for the most part. I've got a small area in the rear pans of both sides that need to be cut out and replaced due to rust, but that's it. Everything else looks great. The '69 has a storage box behind the drivers seat that recesses into the smugglers box. I pulled that out to look for rust and it's rock solid back there, so I'm a happy camper as far as that goes!

I'll do it for sure. I also plan on meeting up with the other guys at noon at the tower as mentioned in the AutoFair post.
