: Hiya Guys! New to the forum, in East Tennessee!!
TNelcLADY82 03-29-2005, 06:54 PM Hi everyone, Just wanted to introduce myself to the region I call home. I'm Amanda, mom to Matthew who is 5, and I'll be 23 come April 15th, also known as TNelcLADY82 to the forum, been here about a week now, mainly in the BS topic site. You can see my other posts in there. I'm from East Tennessee, a little place called Kingsport, some of you may know where that is, some of you may have heard of Bristol...I'm about 15 minutes away from the Bristol Motor Speedway. We have a big race coming up this coming weekend...lots of out of towners here. If you've been to the classifieds site, then you know that I am looking for an El camino of my own. I'd like to by a 1972 if I can find one close to home, or in my general area. Check my classifieds section ad for details, if you know of one that may fit what I'm looking for give me a shout. I'm having fun here so far on ECC, and soon hope to be a proud owner of an Elky like most of the rest of you are. Looking forward to meeting more of ya' and hope to some of you at the Super Chevy Show in Bristol this summer, I'll be there with bells on, with or without a truck to show. I haven't missed in 5 years now. Keep 'em real and keep 'em classic!

Bowtie 03-30-2005, 11:12 PM Welcome to the group. You know, the members here are really nicer than any other ole club. It is a great group. I know your turf well and go to Bristol and Johnson City several times a year on business and to see my buddies at the Acura dealer. Like Chad said, if you will consider other years than a 72, let us know. I may have access to rich old man in Johnson City who has babied one for several years. I haven't pursued it because I've already bought two Mino's in the last 4 months.
Welcome aboard. Good luck with your dream car and dreams. :?
TNelcLADY82 03-31-2005, 06:28 PM as far as other years I'd consider, yeah, I like several. But my DREAM truck is a 72 SS. I like all the 3rd generation years, and 73 are nice as well. Not big into the newer body style of the late 80's. I wouldn't mind having an 82, since 82 is my birth year. Prices...well, it depends on the truck. Some are worth it, some aren't. I was looking at one a few days ago that was in rough shape, needed too much done to be asking $6,000 for it. Bowtie, I'm right in between JC and Bristol in little ole Kingsport...so I'm sure you know my area well. Whomever it is that finds a truck that eventually becomes mine, that perons will offically be dubbed my white Knight in shining armour...lol...i will be FOREVER grateful. LOL! As far as this forum, I love it, the people have been so nice, and it's so totally cool to talk truck around here and people not be going"oh she's a GIRL...she don't know nothing..." That is the attitude most have had before. Bowtie, can you check into that Elky you mentioned? For me, please? or get some contact info? I mainly wanna know what year it is, how much, and when i can see it...lol :) ss96Camaro, you must be talking about Super Chevy...i love it, there are usually a LOT of people there, and a good amount of parts and stuff and cars for sale too. If i haven't found my truck by then, I'm sure I'll find it at Super Chevy. I'm not rushing, and I have standards. My dad is helping me, he's had 3 Elkys (my favorite year is because of my dad) and he's telling me to be patient, my truck will show up when it's ready, and when I see it, i'll know it was meant to be mine. the black one i tested this week defenatly was not my truck. it just didn't fit me. I'll know when the one that's meant to be mine comes along. we'll fit together and it'll be when i least expect it. I'm keeping my eyes open and i appreciate any help or tips i get from the nice people on here. Thanks everyone, and I look forward to many years to come on the ECC, hopefully with my truck soon!
