: Hiya Guys! New to the forum, in East Tennessee!!
TNelcLADY82 03-29-2005, 07:11 PM Hi everyone, Just wanted to introduce myself to the region close to home (i'm in region 7). I'm Amanda, mom to Matthew who is 5, and I'll be 23 come April 15th, also known as TNelcLADY82 to the forum, been here about a week now, mainly in the BS topic site. You can see my other posts in there. I'm from East Tennessee, a little place called Kingsport, some of you may know where that is, some of you may have heard of Bristol...I'm about 15 minutes away from the Bristol Motor Speedway. We have a big race coming up this coming weekend...lots of out of towners here. If you've been to the classifieds site, then you know that I am looking for an El camino of my own. I'd like to by a 1972 if I can find one close to home, or in my general area. Check my classifieds section ad for details, if you know of one that may fit what I'm looking for give me a shout. I'm having fun here so far on ECC, and soon hope to be a proud owner of an Elky like most of the rest of you are. Looking forward to meeting more of ya' and hope to some of you at the Super Chevy Show in Bristol this summer, I'll be there with bells on, with or without a truck to show. I haven't missed in 5 years now. Keep 'em real and keep 'em classic!
Alchemist 03-30-2005, 04:54 AM Hi Amanda! And WELCOME!
bigjames4xl 03-30-2005, 05:47 PM Good to have you here!
Drive over to Charlotte for the AutoFair next weekend. Good chance there will be an elky or two for sale there.
TNelcLADY82 03-30-2005, 07:09 PM when is the Autofare, and where at in Charolette? You gonna be there?
Orfunauto 03-30-2005, 08:13 PM It's at the Lowe's Motor Speedway. Exit 49 off I-85. 10,000 + vendors, 1500 + cars for sale. Great time, but wear your walking shoes. I'll have my 82 SS parked in car coral space # CC-2159. It's on the front straight next to the 1st walk-down gate coming out of turn four. There will be a jug of ice water bungee'd to the fence, if you've got a glass or bottle, help yourself. That goes for any of our members attending the show. I'll be there all four days, but plan on walking most of the time. The SS will only be parked there, not for sale, but to satisfy the "everything's got a price" guy, I'll put $35K-firm on the windshield. :) Show runs 7-10 April.
Tommy 03-30-2005, 08:13 PM Welcome aboard. Read the other post about the Autofare. All of us will be there just not at the same time & place unless we can arrange it!
TNelcLADY82 03-31-2005, 06:42 PM Oh wow you guys! The AutoFair will be right before my birthday on the 15th. That would be such a wonderful 23rd birthday present to find my El Camino!!! And as far as everyone on the forum, the members meeting up, that sounds like a wonderful idea, putting faces to the names would be nice, and to meet the guys who've been so nice to me would be cool too. I'd love to find my Elky soon too, and sounds like a good opportunity. Wonder if my boyfriend or my dad would be able to put up with me talking trucks long enough to ride down with me???? Lets's see, Charolette is about (looking at maps) 4 hours away from me. Not too bad. I might be able to talk someone into making the trip with me...it's easy to talk myself into it....but i don't want to go alone. My poor boyfriend is tired already of my El Camino come lately craziness. I've always loved elkys, but now that i actually have the chance to buy one, i've been a little to excited. If i don't happen to get to go, is there some wonderful person out there who can cheack out the for-sales there for me??? I promise to love you forever and accredit the correct people for helping me find my dream truck. Thanks guys, and keep your fingers crossed that I'm able to go! Me and my little Chevy might be making the trip to NC!! WOO-HOO!
Tommy 04-01-2005, 09:35 AM Hope to see you there. :)
Alchemist 04-02-2005, 04:03 AM Amanda, If you head through Boone, NC and down hwy 321 you can cut a bit off the trip to Charlotte. I live ~30 miles north of Charlotte, and can get to Bristol in just under 3 hours. ;)
TNelcLADY82 04-02-2005, 11:05 AM Thanks, I'll remember that! Any time I can cut off the trip will mean more time at the show! I'm hoping to be there at the Autofair, as long as everything goes as planned this week.
