I am new to the site and i just bought my first car last night at 10:00pm
and i am now the proud owner of an '84 El camino conquista with a 305. it has minor surface rustbut nothing that can't be fixed.
i have cleaned it up a bit and took off a rubber mat the owner had placed in the bed. suprisingly there is no rust just some scratched paint. i was wondering if it would be better to get the entire car painted bed and all or get a spray in liner for the bed and paint the car. i am only 15 so money is tight. i don't plan on using it for hauling much. any suggestions would help.

First off...Welcome to the group!

The bed discussion has been going here for awhile now...to line or not to line is a matter of personal preference. But keep in mind, It ain't cheap!

As a matter of fact, one of the guys just submitted a "How to do it yourself" article that can be found on the main page.

But, in your case I think I'd just stick with the mat for a while. You may find that your money might be better off spent making sure your new pride & joy is mechanically sound first...just a thought.
