Well have I got a story to tell. So last week I went home for spring break and I busted the Elcky out of storage. Well I figured I should start fixing things where I left off and went to the yard to pick up the CC diaphram to replace mine cause it went out in fall. And to my supprise right beside the elcky I was robbing parts out of sat an 88 Monte Carlo. I opened the doors and it had almost a complete gray interior. And the dash had no cracks. So I went into the office and paided for my parts. Wile i was their I asked what they wanted for the door pannels and they said $20 for the upper and lower pannels with power swiches. And that was for the pair. I also asked what they would want for the dash, gauges, hvac controls and all the plastic from the doors forward. The guy said 95 for all of that.
Needless to say I went home got another $20 and took the door pannels. Since my elcky had none. Like and dummy I didn't know if I wanted the dash and all that jazz. So I slept on it for 2 nights. Finally I decided that the door pannels cleaned up so nice and looked good so I went back to the yard and picked up the dash. I couldn't believe they let it go for that price. Obviously the guys at the junk yard have no idea what the dash was really worth. Any how I got it in the next day, and now all my gauges but the speedo work, and i don't have an ugly cracks in my dash. The only thing that wasn't there was the trim for arround the raido, but i think that I will just paint the one from my origonal dash a gloss black to go with the monty dash inserts.
It looks great and I still can't believe that I had to think about it for 2 nights what finally made me buy it was when I saw the prices to get my dash pad replaced or to buy a repo dash. I'll try and get some pics up if you guys want too.
Oh and before you ask, the seats were junk as what the console, it looked like they must have broke the seats cause they were welded in with rebar and steel cable (don't ask how it was a sever hack job) and the cloth was all tore up. And it looked like some one was too impatient to remove the consel brackets cause about 70% were all broke off, other wise I would have picked up that stuff too.
